Donald Trump declares 'magnificent victory'; thanks supporters
US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump early Wednesday thanked Americans for the apparent 'honor of being elected' to the nation’s highest office.
Addressing supporters in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump stated, 'I want to thank the American people for the incredible honor of being elected your 47th president, as well as your 45th president.' He promised a focus on national healing, saying, 'We're going to help our country heal.'
Trump also acknowledged his family’s support and celebrated his party’s reported control of the Senate. He gave special recognition to his running mate, JD Vance, calling their partnership a successful choice despite initial uncertainty.
On stage, JD Vance hailed Trump’s achievement as the 'greatest political comeback in American history.'
In contrast, Kamala Harris’s team announced that she would not be making a public address to her supporters.
