Saudi applauds positive outcomes from peace talks with Houthis

Saudi Arabia has expressed its satisfaction with the "positive results" achieved during peace talks with a delegation from Sana’a, who are currently in the Kingdom to advance the peace process in Yemen.

In an official statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry also commended the meeting held between Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Sana’a delegation. The ministry stated that it "welcomes the positive outcomes of the substantive discussions aimed at formulating a roadmap to bolster the peace process in Yemen."
These peace talks were conducted by the Saudi communication and coordination team, led by Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, in conjunction with a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman. The Sana’a delegation, led by Mohammed Abdulsalam Felitah, was also an integral part of these discussions.
The Foreign Ministry highlighted that these discussions serve as a continuation of previous meetings held by the Saudi team with the chairman and members of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council in Sana’a from April 8 to April 13.
It is worth noting that on September 14, Saudi Arabia extended an invitation to a Houthi delegation for peace talks within the kingdom, as announced by the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
Yemen has grappled with violence and instability since 2014, when Houthi rebels, aligned with Iran, took control of significant parts of the country, including the capital city, Sana’a.
