Saudi Crown Prince urges stop to Israel war on Gaza in talks with Blinken

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasized the imperative of halting Israel's conflict in Gaza during discussions with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday.

At his winter retreat in Al-Ula, northwest Saudi Arabia, Bin Salman welcomed Blinken, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). Their conversation underscored the urgent need to escalate humanitarian aid efforts for Palestinians in Gaza and establish conditions fostering security and stability.
The Crown Prince also emphasized the necessity of a peace initiative that secures the rightful aspirations of the Palestinian people, ensuring an equitable and enduring resolution.
Blinken's official visit to various regions, including Turkey, Greece, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, the West Bank, and Egypt, extends until January 11, according to the US State Department.
This diplomatic mission coincides with an ongoing devastating conflict initiated by the Israeli army on Gaza since October 7, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 23,084 Palestinian lives and leaving 58,926 others wounded.
Throughout this period of conflict, the United States has been a staunch supporter of Israel, providing extensive military, intelligence, and diplomatic backing, leading to criticisms that Washington is complicit in Israeli actions amounting to 'war crimes' in Gaza.
