World War III won't remain confined in Europe: Russia

Russia said the West was playing with fire by considering allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with Western missiles and cautioned the United States on Tuesday that World War Three would not be confined to Europe.

Sergei Lavrov, who has been Russia's foreign minister for over two decades, accused the West of escalating the conflict in Ukraine and warned that they were 'asking for trouble' by considering Ukraine's requests to relax restrictions on the use of foreign weapons.
Lavrov cautioned, 'Once again, we emphasize that playing with fire—like children playing with matches—is extremely dangerous, especially for those in Western countries who are responsible for nuclear weapons.' He made these remarks during a press conference in Moscow.
Lavrov further noted that the United States appears to believe that, in the event of a Third World War, Europe would be the primary battleground, which he suggested is a dangerous and mistaken assumption.
