China-India to speed up border talks, says Chinese foreign ministry
China and India have agreed to expedite discussions concerning their contested border and remain committed to maintaining peace and stability in the region, according to a statement released by China's foreign ministry on Thursday.
Representatives from both nations convened for the 30th session of the China-India Border Affairs Consultation and Coordination Working Mechanism in New Delhi. The meeting focused on resolving the longstanding border dispute in the Himalayas, where the boundary lines remain largely undefined.
Although relations had deteriorated in the past, recent interactions between leaders from both countries have paved the way for renewed efforts to address and settle the issues.
