India, Taiwan tourists can enter Thailand without visa for 6 Months

Thailand is set to enhance its tourism sector and boost its economic recovery by offering a visa waiver for travelers from India and Taiwan in the lead-up to the year-end holiday season.

Premier Srettha Thavisin announced that tourists from India and Taiwan can enter Thailand without a visa from November 10th until May 10th next year, following a cabinet meeting held on Tuesday. Prior to this, Thailand had already waived visa requirements for travelers from China and Kazakhstan, extending the privilege until February 29th.
The primary objective of this visa waiver is to expedite the return of tourists, aiming to revitalize tourism revenue to levels reminiscent of the pre-Covid era. Thailand has already welcomed over 20 million foreign tourists this year, a significant step towards the pre-pandemic record of nearly 40 million. With expectations of welcoming up to 28 million tourists by the end of the year, Thailand is on track for a substantial recovery.
Among the leading contributors to Thailand's tourism this year, Malaysian tourists have taken the top spot, exceeding 3 million visitors. Following closely behind are the Chinese tourists, who were the largest group of visitors to Thailand before the pandemic, with 2.65 million arrivals as of October 15th, according to the latest data from the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Thailand anticipates that the number of Chinese tourists will increase to 4 to 4.4 million in 2023, as reported by the tourism agency earlier this month. This surge in visitors reflects Thailand's continuous efforts to rejuvenate its tourism industry and stimulate its economy.
