Trump narrowly escapes as a bullet pierces the ear at election rally

Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump narrowly avoided an assassination attempt during a election campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

The 78-year-old former US president narrowly escaped as a bullet grazed his right ear. Dramatic images from the scene show Trump with blood on his face, raising his fist and appearing to mouth "Fight! Fight! Fight!"
The Secret Service reported that one rally attendee was killed, and two others were injured in the attack. The shooter was also killed.
According to US media reports, Trump had just begun his speech when the shots were fired. Videos show Trump reaching for his ear, inspecting his hand, and then dropping to his knees behind the podium. Secret Service agents quickly surrounded and shielded him.
A minute later, Trump reappeared, protected by agents, with his red 'Make America Great Again' hat knocked off. He continued to pump his fist and mouth 'Fight! Fight! Fight!' before being ushered into a vehicle.
Trump later posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, stating, 'I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. Much bleeding took place.'
US President Joe Biden swiftly condemned the attack, expressing relief that Trump was safe. 'I'm grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety,' Biden said.
