Flood damage cost Tk14,421cr in eastern Bangladesh
The recent floods in the eastern region of Bangladesh have caused an estimated damage of Tk14,421 crore in eleven districts, according to a study conducted by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD).
Presented at a media briefing at the CPD office in Dhaka today (6 October), the findings said that the amount represented 1.81% of the national budget for FY2024-25.
Also, in terms of GDP, it accounted for 0.29% of FY2023-24's provisional GDP and 0.26% of the projected GDP for FY25.
