Trump threatens 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada on 1 Feb
Donald Trump said that he would impose a 35% tariff on Mexico and Canada on 1 February, during an Oval Office signing ceremony on Monday(20 January) evening.
This is a major change with the USA's two biggest trade partners, and will likely lead to raised prices for US citizens, says CNN.
Last year, the US imported $475 billion worth of goods from Mexico and $418 billion from Canada, collectively accounting for 30% of the value of all the goods the US exported last year, according to federal trade data.
