Apple unleashes iPhone 16, Its First Smartphone Built for AI

Apple has officially introduced the iPhone 16, marking its first smartphone specifically designed to leverage generative AI capabilities.

The new iPhone 16 brings a host of hardware upgrades and design improvements, though it retains the overall appearance of its predecessor, the iPhone 15.
The standard iPhone 16 model, featuring a 6.1-inch screen, is priced at 799 US dollar, while the iPhone 16 Plus, with a 6.7-inch screen, starts at $899. Both models come with 128 gigabytes of storage and are available in five colors: black, white, pink, teal, and ultramarine. The iPhone 16 Pro, with a 6.3-inch screen, is priced at $999, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max, with a 6.9-inch screen, starts at $1,199. These Pro models offer storage options of up to 1 terabyte. All models will be available starting September 20, 2024.
The phones are powered by the new A18 chip, designed to handle the increased processing demands of AI features, and according to Apple, it's up to 30% faster than the chip in the iPhone 15. The devices also feature upgraded camera technology, including a 48-megapixel main camera and an ultrawide lens, along with a revamped Photo app that integrates AI-driven features. Additionally, the iPhone 16 models introduce a new physical button called Camera Control, allowing users to quickly launch the camera, take photos, or start video recording. The Camera Control switch also provides a new preview mode for framing shots and adjusting settings.
Apple announced the iPhone 16 lineup during its 2024 fall product event at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. The event, themed 'It’s Glowtime,' highlighted the updated Siri voice assistant, which now features an 'elegant glowing light' that surrounds the screen’s edge when activated.
