Elon Musk to integrate xAI with social media platform X
Elon Musk has announced the integration of his artificial intelligence startup xAI, with his social media platform, X. In addition to this integration, xAI will also be available as a standalone app, as revealed in a recent post made by Musk on Sunday.
Musk further disclosed that xAI has introduced its inaugural AI model, a bot named Grok. This AI model has been made accessible to all X Premium+ subscribers since last Friday. The primary objective of Musk's startup is to develop AI tools that aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge and understanding. Grok has been specifically designed to answer questions with a touch of wit and personality.
Elon Musk, a vocal critic of the AI efforts of major tech companies, launched xAI in July, describing it as a "maximum truth-seeking AI." Its purpose is to delve into the fundamental nature of the universe and compete with AI offerings like Google's Bard and Microsoft's Bing AI.
Musk emphasized the advantage Grok holds with real-time access to information through the X platform, a feature that sets it apart from other AI models.
It's worth noting that in 2015, Musk co-founded OpenAI, the organization responsible for developing ChatGPT, which has generated significant interest in generative AI technology worldwide. However, he stepped down from the board of OpenAI in 2018.
