Czech player Barbora Krejcikova wins her 1st Wimbledon crown

Czech tennis player Barbora Krejcikova clinched her first Wimbledon women's singles title on Saturday.

Ranked world No. 31, Krejcikova defeated Italian seventh seed Jasmine Paolini with a score of 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in a final that lasted nearly two hours.
"I think nobody believes that I got to the final and nobody is going to believe that I won Wimbledon. I mean, I still cannot believe it. It's unbelievable," Krejcikova remarked after her victory in London.
Krejcikova, who also won her maiden major singles title at the 2021 French Open (Roland Garros), added Wimbledon to her list of Grand Slam achievements.
This year's Wimbledon tournament, one of the four major tennis events, will conclude with the men's final on Sunday between Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Serbia's Novak Djokovic.
