Deadly bombing kills 3 security personnel in Pakistan, injures 18

A roadside bomb blast in Pakistan’s Balochistan province killed three security officers and injured 18 others on Tuesday (April 15), amid a resurgence of violence in the country’s volatile southwest.

The attack occurred in Mastung district, a region frequently targeted by separatist groups. According to Shahid Rind, a spokesperson for the provincial government, the blast hit a vehicle carrying security forces. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
While no group has claimed responsibility so far, the attack bears the hallmarks of Baloch separatist militants, who have been engaged in a prolonged insurgency against the central government, demanding greater autonomy and control over local resources.
In a separate incident the same day, two polio vaccination workers were abducted by unidentified gunmen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighting ongoing threats to health and security efforts in Pakistan’s northwest.
