PTI to move IHC over curbs on meeting Imran Khan

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) plans to file a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) today (Monday) against restrictions preventing its parliamentary leaders from meeting party founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.
PTI lawyer Faisal Chaudhry, who has access to Khan, informed the media that party leaders have been unable to meet him for nearly five months.
'As per the standard operating procedures (SOPs), Mr. Khan meets his family and legal team on Tuesdays and party leaders on Thursdays. He also provides a list of six leaders for these meetings, yet the jail authorities have consistently denied them access for the past five months,' Chaudhry stated.
He emphasized that the party had no choice but to seek legal recourse, confirming that a petition would be filed in the IHC today.
When questioned about the government’s recent facilitation of meetings between Imran Khan and a negotiation committee, as well as frequent visits by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Chaudhry clarified that the committee meetings were government-arranged.
Regarding Gandapur’s visits, he noted that the chief minister’s name was not on the list provided by Imran Khan. He reiterated that Khan should be allowed to meet the six parliamentary leaders he has personally nominated on a weekly basis.
