Pakistan to host multinational naval exercise in February

Pakistan will host a biennial multinational naval exercise next month with participation from 60 countries.

Known as 'AMAN (Peace) 25,' the five-day event will take place from February 7 to 11 in the northern Arabian Sea near Karachi, according to a statement from the Pakistan Navy on Sunday.
Themed 'Secure Seas; Prosperous Future,' this will be the ninth edition of the AMAN exercise, a series that began in 2007.
One of the key highlights of this year’s exercise is the 'AMAN Dialogue,' a forum for naval chiefs, Coast Guard leaders, and senior maritime officials from various countries. The dialogue aims to foster discussions on regional security and develop collaborative strategies to tackle emerging maritime challenges.
Participants in the drill will include ships, aircraft, special operations forces, explosive ordnance disposal teams, marines, and observers from the participating nations.
'The AMAN series is a testament to the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to regional peace and maritime cooperation,' the navy noted in its statement.
The first AMAN exercise, held in 2007 under the theme 'Together for Peace,' featured participation from 28 countries. By 2023, the number of participating nations had grown to 50, including several major naval powers.
