Imran Khan directs PTI to seek apex court intervention in rights cases

Pakistan's Former prime minister Imran Khan has asked his party’s interim chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan to write a letter to Chief Justice Yayha Afridi and Constitutional Bench head Justice Aminuddin Khan to take up Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) human rights cases on priority.

In a conversation with lawyers and journalists at Adiala Jail, the details of which were shared on Khan’s official X account on Monday, the PTI founder emphasized the importance of raising these issues at the highest judicial level.
He instructed Barrister Gohar and Salman Akram Raja to send formal letters not only to the Supreme Court but also to international human rights organizations to draw attention to the matter.
Khan further urged Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to address allegations made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif by writing to the apex committee.
'We are not seeking any favors; we are only asking for justice in accordance with the law,' Khan stated. He also expressed disappointment over the judiciary’s condition after the implementation of the 26th Amendment.
Reaffirming his stance, Khan declared that he would not engage in any deals to secure his release. 'My cases and release are not tied to any negotiations with the government. If talks fail, it will be due to the government’s apathy and inability to establish a judicial commission,' he concluded.
