Two policemen killed, 3 injured in Pakistan terror attack
A terrorist attack on a police check-post in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday left two policemen dead and three others injured, local authorities reported.
The incident occurred in the Chakesar area of the mountainous Shangla district. Attackers hurled a hand grenade at the check-post and opened fire before fleeing the scene, officials said.
The injured officers were promptly taken to a hospital in Battagram for treatment, police confirmed.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and neighboring Balochistan provinces have experienced frequent terrorist activities in recent years, with law enforcement and security forces often being the primary targets.
