Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch on Thursday said that Pakistan had invited the Indian Premier Narendra Modi to the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting being held in Islamabad.

During a weekly press briefing, the Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed that invitations had been sent to the leaders of all member countries, including an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Baloch mentioned that some countries have already confirmed their participation, though specifics will be shared later.
When questioned about Pakistan’s relationship with India, the spokesperson clarified that Pakistan does not currently engage in direct bilateral trade with India.
former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited India to attend the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting, marking the first visit by a Pakistani foreign minister to India in nearly 12 years.
