Internet outages reported across various cities of Pakistan

Citizens in various cities of Pakistan faced internet connectivity issues on Thursday, amid already-existing concerns of service disruptions.

This latest outage follows claims made by a coalition of internet service providers (ISPs) a day earlier, stating that increased government efforts to monitor online traffic had led to a significant slowdown of services throughout the country.
The Wireless and Internet Service Providers Association of Pakistan (Wispap) noted that internet speeds have dropped by 30 to 40 percent in recent weeks, expressing concerns that the situation has become so problematic that numerous businesses are contemplating moving their operations abroad.
Prominent online platforms, like Facebook and WhatsApp, have experienced substantial effects, with users noting sluggish performance and challenges in accessing messaging and social media apps since last week.
Some users suspect that these outages may be due to a firewall implemented by the government to monitor and control internet usage.
