Pakistan court orders jail for wife of Imran Khan

A Pakistani court has ruled in favor of the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, granting her request to be transferred to jail instead of remaining under house arrest as ordered by the government due to security concerns.

Bushra Bibi, who has been detained at Khan's hilltop mansion in Islamabad since the couple's conviction in January on charges of illegally selling state gifts, contested the house arrest through her lawyer, Naeem Panjutha, as posted on the social media platform X.
Acting on behalf of Bushra Bibi, her legal team filed an appeal in the Islamabad High Court, seeking her relocation to a jail facility.
Following the court's decision, authorities were directed to transfer her to Adyala jail in the garrison city of Rawalpindi, where Khan, a former cricket superstar, is currently serving a 14-year sentence, as confirmed by his party in a statement.
In response to her appeal, Bushra Bibi alleged that authorities at the house, designated as a sub-jail, had been serving her contaminated food. However, the authorities have refuted these claims.
