Pakistan-China vow to upgrade cooperation on CPEC projects

Pakistan and China have pledged to intensify cooperation on projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), reaffirming their commitment to strengthen their longstanding strategic partnership.

During a meeting between Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Zheng Jianbang, the vice chairman of China's Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, both sides expressed their determination to deepen collaboration on CPEC initiatives.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 15th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Islamic Summit Conference in The Gambia, as reported by the Foreign Office (FO).
Ishaq Dar highlighted the importance of fostering mutually beneficial ties through robust economic cooperation. The two leaders reiterated the significance of the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and discussed the ongoing exchanges between the parliaments of both nations.
Both Pakistan and China emphasized their resolve to enhance and elevate cooperation on CPEC projects, reflecting their shared commitment to the initiative's success. Additionally, they deliberated on China's expanding engagement with the OIC, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and understanding for mutual peace and prosperity.
Radio Pakistan further reported Dar's reaffirmation of Pakistan's unwavering support for China on key issues, stressing the importance of bolstering economic collaboration for mutual benefit.
Meanwhile, Jianbang reiterated China's steadfast support for Pakistan's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and developmental endeavors, underscoring the depth of their bilateral relations.
