Iranian President Raisi reaches Pakistan on three-day visit

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a three-day visit, attracting global attention amidst Tehran's ongoing tensions with Israel.

Upon his arrival at the Nur Khan Airbase, President Raisi was warmly received by Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada. A guard of honour, presented by a contingent of the armed forces, greeted him as he arrived at the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif House, where the national anthems of both countries echoed in a symbol of bilateral camaraderie. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took the opportunity to introduce his cabinet members to the esteemed guest.
Prime Minister Sharif, extending a warm welcome to President Raisi, noted the historic significance of his visit as the first foreign leader to grace Pakistan since the general elections held on February 8.
During their discussions, both leaders emphasized the importance of bolstering bilateral ties, particularly in trade and communications sectors. They reaffirmed their commitment to combating terrorism through joint efforts, underscoring the need for enhanced cooperation in this regard. Additionally, the leaders engaged in dialogue aimed at addressing regional challenges through peaceful means.
President Raisi's visit holds significant implications for the relationship between Iran and Pakistan, with both nations poised to explore avenues for collaboration and dialogue amidst a complex geopolitical landscape.
