Pakistan's EC confirms no delay expected in general elections

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has unequivocally stated that there are no apparent grounds for delaying the scheduled elections.

Addressing the concerns raised before the Election Commission, sources from the ECP highlighted that requests for election postponement primarily revolved around two factors: security and inclement weather.
However, these reasons were deemed insufficient given that the election schedule is anticipated to be announced on December 14, and the electoral rolls have already been distributed to districts nationwide.
The ECP sources noted that although specific constituencies might experience delays based on reports received from relevant departments, as reported by The News International, as of the present moment, the prevailing security situation is deemed satisfactory across the country.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikander Sultan Raja, as reported by Pakistan-based Geo News, affirmed that meticulous preparations for the general elections are underway, with the election schedule set to be disclosed shortly.
On the occasion of National Voters Day, Sikander Sultan Raja reiterated the Election Commission's dedication to its constitutional and legal obligations. He emphasized the Commission's commitment to ensuring the conduct of 'transparent and peaceful elections.'
