Pakistan and China likely to ink more highway deals
During the forthcoming 4 day visit of Pakistan's caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaarul Haq Kakar, to Beijing starting on October 16, significant agreements pertaining to motorways and highways are anticipated to be inked. These agreements will fall under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Pakistan's Premier Kakar's visit to China is primarily to participate in the 'Third Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for International Cooperation,' scheduled to be held in Beijing from October 17 to 18.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's office, 'The prime minister will partake in the opening ceremony of the BRF and deliver a keynote address at the high-level forum titled 'Connectivity in an Open Global Economy.'
This visit underscores the ongoing collaboration between Pakistan and China within the ambit of the CPEC, which aims to enhance connectivity and foster economic development between the two nations. It is expected that these new agreements will further solidify the infrastructure and transportation links, fostering regional and international cooperation.
As Pakistan and China continue to strengthen their economic and strategic ties, these developments remain significant not only for the two countries but also for the broader region and international trade. The CPEC is a vital component of China's Belt and Road Initiative, showcasing the importance of connectivity and infrastructure development in today's global landscape.
