Imran Khan charged with criminal conspiracy in may 9 violence

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and several other individuals have been officially charged with 'criminal conspiracy' in connection with multiple cases related to the events of May 9, including arson attacks on the Lahore corps commander's residence, as announced by Punjab police.

Official sources disclosed that a total of 50 cases were registered under various anti-terrorism and legal statutes. Among these, 14 cases each were filed in different police stations in Lahore and Rawalpindi, with nine cases in Sargodha, seven in Sheikhupura, five in Faisalabad, and one in Gujranwala.
Recently, the Punjab police added several offenses, including those under sections 121 (related to waging or attempting to wage war or aiding war against Pakistan), 131 (abetting mutiny or attempting to seduce a soldier, sailor, or airman from their duty), and 146 (rioting) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), to the First Information Reports (FIRs).
During a press briefing in Lahore Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr. Anoosh Masood Chaudhry informed the media that the police had also included additional offenses and sections, such as 34 and 120b of the PPC, in the May 9 cases.
When questioned about the criminal conspiracy charges against PTI Chairman Imran Khan, Dr. Chaudhry explained that additional sections, including 120b, had been added to the charges related to vandalism and violence filed on May 9. According to the investigation conducted by the Lahore police, she stated that there appeared to be evidence confirming the incitement of mutiny and the planning of vandalism on May 9.
Responding to a query regarding Imran Khan's presence at the scene of the alleged crime, Dr. Chaudhry emphasized that whether or not he was physically present was not the sole determinant, as there was evidence indicating that he had incited the suspects to carry out violent attacks on sensitive installations belonging to the Pakistan Army.
