Imran Khan rules out ‘deal', vows never to leave Pakistan: lawyer

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party's Chairman Imran Khan currently incarcerated in Attock Jail, has unequivocally dismissed the possibility of striking any deal to secure his release. His legal counsel, Advocate Shoaib Shaheen, made this assertion following a meeting with the former Prime Minister.

During a press conference outside the prison on Saturday, Shaheen conveyed Imran Khan's firm stance, emphasizing that there would be no arrangement for his departure from Pakistan. Khan vehemently refuted the notion that he would settle abroad, dismissing it as unfounded propaganda aimed at undermining his popularity. Furthermore, Khan affirmed that he possesses neither assets nor bank accounts outside of Pakistan, as stated by Shaheen.
During the meeting, Imran Khan also underscored the critical importance of holding early, equitable, and transparent elections. He asserted that such elections are the remedy for the numerous political, economic, and financial challenges that have plagued the nation during the 16-month rule of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
In a message addressed to the nation, Khan called upon the citizens to stand up for their rights and expressed his unwavering commitment to resisting any pressure or tactics from the establishment. He declared his readiness to endure imprisonment for an extended period, even up to a century, if necessary, according to Advocate Shoaib Shaheen.
