Bangladesh a land of 'crazy ideas' that work: Yunus tells global investors

Highlighting Bangladesh’s remarkable development journey, Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday described the country as a place of “bold and unconventional ideas” that have consistently turned into success stories. He called on international investors to take a serious look at the opportunities in Bangladesh and join forces to drive global change.
“Bangladesh has come a long way in a very short time—it’s been an incredible journey,” Yunus said during his speech at the official opening of the Bangladesh Investment Summit. “This is a country where bold ideas become reality. It's the right place for investment.”
The four-day Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025, which began on April 7, is being hailed as a landmark event, underscoring Bangladesh’s focus on sustainable economic growth, investor-friendly reforms, and long-term development strategies.
The opening session also featured remarks from Baroness Rosie Winterton, the UK’s Trade Envoy to Bangladesh; Óscar García Maceiras, CEO of Inditex; and Syed Nasim Manzur, Managing Director of Apex Footwear Limited. The summit provides a platform for both foreign and domestic investors to share their perspectives and engage with government officials on the future of investment in the country.
