Pakistani security forces kill 8 militants in a raid near the Afghan border

Pakistani security forces killed eight suspected militants and injured four others during an operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's North Waziristan district, the military said on Sunday.
The clash took place on Saturday night and involved members of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), according to an official statement from the army. The group, labeled “Khawarij” in the release—a term historically used to describe extremists—was reportedly engaged in planning attacks in the area.
The military reaffirmed its call for the Taliban administration in Afghanistan to act against terrorist networks operating across the border. This follows Pakistan's repeated concerns over the presence of TTP operatives using Afghan territory as a base for launching attacks.
Afghan Taliban authorities, however, have consistently rejected these allegations, insisting that TTP activities are an internal issue for Pakistan and unrelated to Afghan soil.
Diplomatic friction between the neighboring countries has grown in recent months, with Islamabad accusing Kabul of failing to curb cross-border militant activity. The Taliban government has dismissed these claims, deepening the divide between the two sides.
