India has always tried to cast an evil eye on Pakistan: President Zardari

Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari said on Sunday that India has consistently attempted to undermine Pakistan, while the country also faces threats from militant groups, specifically the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which he referred to as fitna-e-Khawarij.

Speaking at the Pakistan Day military parade held at Aiwan-e-Sadr (the President’s House), Zardari extended his congratulations to the nation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to establishing a welfare state where the rule of law prevails.
He emphasized that Pakistan is a resilient and determined nation capable of overcoming challenges, asserting that despite both internal and external conspiracies, the country would continue on its path of progress.
Zardari reiterated that Pakistan’s foreign policy is centered on peace and development, expressing the country’s willingness to foster peaceful relations with all neighboring nations based on mutual respect and equality.
The president also called upon the international community to support the Kashmiri people in determining their future in accordance with UN resolutions.
Pakistan Day is observed annually to mark the Lahore Resolution, passed on March 23, 1940, in which the All India Muslim League formally demanded a separate homeland for Muslims in the subcontinent.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Cabinet ministers, military chiefs, diplomats, and other distinguished guests. Due to the ongoing month of Ramadan, the celebrations were held on a smaller scale.
