Army shoots down Pakistani intruder at Indo-Pak border

The Border Security Force (BSF) reported on Wednesday that it had neutralized an intruder spotted making suspicious movements near the International Border (IB).

According to the army, the individual was shot after failing to respond to warnings from security personnel.
"During the pre-dawn hours, BSF troops detected suspicious activity near the IB at BOP Tashpatan in the Pathankot border region. The intruder crossed the border and ignored repeated warnings from alert troops. Sensing a potential threat, BSF personnel took necessary action and neutralized the individual," the BSF stated, as reported by ANI.
Authorities are working to determine the identity and intent of the intruder. The BSF emphasized that a formal protest would be lodged with the Pakistani Rangers following the incident.
This development follows an exchange of gunfire between Indian and Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC) just a day earlier. The incident took place in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir around 11 a.m.
Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a surge in terrorist activities between May and December last year, prompting intensified countermeasures by Indian security forces.
