Indian FS Misri arrives in Dhaka for bilateral talks

Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has arrived in Dhaka to participate in the Foreign Office Consultations of the two countries. 

Misri landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport aboard an Indian Air Force aircraft around 8:30 am. He was welcomed by Ishrat Jahan, Director General of the South Asia Wing at Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, was also present at the reception.
During his stay, the Indian Foreign Secretary is scheduled to hold discussions with his Bangladeshi counterpart, Md Jashim Uddin. The consultations are set to begin with a private meeting at the State Guest House Padma at 11:00 am, followed by formal discussions as part of the Foreign Office Consultations framework.
After the secretary-level meeting, Misri will attend a luncheon and later meet with Foreign Affairs Advisor Md Touhid Hossain and Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. These engagements aim to deepen dialogue on mutual interests and address ongoing issues between the two neighbors.
Adviser Touhid Hossain expressed optimism about overcoming the recent diplomatic challenges, emphasizing the importance of strong ties between Bangladesh and India. Misri is expected to conclude his visit and return to Delhi later tonight.
