Bangladesh's Yunus urges unity to counter 'Indian aggression'
Bangladesh's Interim government chief adviser Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday urged the country's politicians to keep differences at bay and put up a united front to counter 'Indian aggression'.
Speaking at a gathering of political parties, Yunus expressed concern over efforts to undermine Bangladesh's development and accused external forces of spreading false narratives. 'They are attempting to disrupt our progress towards building a new Bangladesh by disseminating fictitious stories,' he said.
Yunus also highlighted the reach of these alleged campaigns, noting, 'These rumors have been circulated in specific countries and among influential groups.' Emphasizing the gravity of the situation, he described it as 'a question of our very existence' and urged political leaders to come together to address the challenge.
The meeting, which Yunus's media team described as part of a broader effort to foster national unity, was focused on addressing what was termed 'Indian aggression.' Additionally, Yunus engaged with student leaders on Tuesday evening as part of this initiative.
