Bangladesh seeks enhanced diplomatic engagement of missions in South Asia
Bangladesh's Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin on Tuesday asked the heads of Bangladesh’s missions in South Asian countries to strengthen diplomatic engagement at the bilateral level to foster peace, stability and economic development in the region.
The directive was issued during a virtual meeting with Bangladesh’s ambassadors and high commissioners stationed in South Asian nations, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting focused on evaluating the current status of bilateral relations, improving consular services, and addressing administrative matters within the missions.
Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin highlighted the importance of combining diplomatic efforts with regional cooperation, underscoring their potential to significantly enhance peace and development in South Asia.
During the session, the mission leaders shared updates on their ongoing initiatives and efforts to strengthen ties with their host countries.
