Two Rohingya shot by BSF while crossing into Bangladesh

Two Rohingya, a woman and a child, were shot by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) while crossing into Bangladesh through Moulvibazar district with a group of seven Rohingya men and women.

According to local sources and police, Nazim Uddin, his wife Dilara Begum, and their five children were attempting to enter Bangladesh from India when BSF personnel fired at them. Dilara and her daughter Sohana were hit by bullets during the incident.
Local residents assisted in rescuing the injured family members, initially transporting them to Moulvibazar Sadar General Hospital. They were later moved to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital on Sunday afternoon for further medical care.
Nazim recounted that a BSF soldier fired a single shot, injuring his wife and child, but the weapon then malfunctioned, allowing them to proceed into Bangladesh safely.
Nazim stated that the family was returning to Bangladesh after spending two years in India, having arranged the journey through a broker, though he was uncertain of the precise location where they entered Moulvibazar.
