Pakistan's policy of cross-border terrorism will never succeed: Jaishankar
India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has stated that Pakistan's policy of cross-border terrorism will never succeed and actions will certainly have consequences. He said this while addressing the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York last night.
Jaishankar emphasized that the core issues between India and Pakistan involve the return of Indian territories illegally occupied by Pakistan and the need for Pakistan to end its long-standing support for terrorism.
He criticized Pakistan for its harmful actions, stating that these policies not only affect India but also destabilize the region. He remarked that Pakistan's GDP could be equated to radicalization, and its primary export has been terrorism. Jaishankar suggested that Pakistan is now facing the repercussions of its actions.
He further pointed out that the world must address the ambitions of dysfunctional nations that covet the territories of others and should expose and counter such behavior.
Highlighting global concerns, Jaishankar noted that the international community cannot remain passive in the face of widespread violence, whether in conflicts like Ukraine or Gaza. He reiterated that terrorism is in direct opposition to global values and called for united opposition to it in all forms.
Jaishankar also stressed that the UN's efforts to sanction global terrorists should not be hindered by political agendas.
