No Modi-Yunus meeting on India's UN General Assembly agenda

Indian Premier Narendra Modi is not expected to meet Bangladesh interim government chief Muhammad Yunus on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly next week.

According to the Hindustan Times, officials with knowledge of the matter confirmed this update. Earlier, Bangladesh had formally requested a meeting between the two leaders, with hopes that it might help ease tensions in bilateral relations following the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government.
However, sources from South Block have clarified that no such meeting is currently planned. 'Prime Minister Modi will hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the UNGA in New York, but a meeting with Bangladesh’s interim leader is not part of the schedule,' one official stated.
The same sources also indicated that a meeting between Modi and former US President Donald Trump is not on the agenda, though a chance encounter between the two in New York has not been completely ruled out.
