US plans economic talks with Bangladesh's interim government
The United States has trashed the speculation on US involvement in the recent student-led anti-government protests in Bangladesh, stressing that they are eager to work with the interim government.
'We remain ready and eager to work with the interim government led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus as it navigates the democratic path for the people of Bangladesh,' said Deputy Principal Spokesperson Vedant Patel during a routine press briefing in Washington on September 9.
Patel mentioned that the US continues to closely observe the ongoing developments in Bangladesh.
The United States expressed its support for the interim government in Bangladesh, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors. The areas of cooperation include health, education, labor, governance, and addressing the Rohingya crisis.
