27 dead from floods in 11 districts in Bangladesh

The recent floods in Bangladesh have claimed the lives of 27 people across 11 districts, with over 5.6 million people affected by the disaster.

This information was shared by KM Ali Reza, Additional Secretary for the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, during an update on the flooding situation at 1 pm on Tuesday.
The previous day’s update had reported 23 fatalities and nearly 5.7 million people impacted by the floods. During a press conference, the additional secretary stated that 74 Upazilas in 11 districts are currently flooded, affecting 541 unions and municipalities. The floods have trapped 1,207,429 families, bringing the total number of affected individuals to 5,619,375.
To provide relief, 3,886 shelters have been established, offering refuge to 509,728 people and 34,421 livestock. Additionally, 620 medical teams are working in the affected districts to provide treatment to those in need.
