US sanctions on Chinese firms for Pakistan missile program

The United States has implemented sanctions on three Chinese companies and one Belarusian company over accusations of providing components for Pakistan's ballistic missile program.

As per an announcement from the US State Department on Friday, the sanctioned firms include Belarus's Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant, as well as China's Xi’an Longde Technology Development Company Ltd, Tianjin Creative Source International Trade Co Ltd, and Granpect Company Ltd.
The State Department stated, 'All assets belonging to the designated entities within the US or under the control of US entities are now frozen. Additionally, any individuals or entities holding direct or indirect ownership of 50% or more by the designated entities are also subject to these sanctions.' The statement further highlighted that these entities supplied materials even for Pakistan's long-range missile projects.
In response to the sanctions, Islamabad appeared nonchalant, stating that such listings of commercial entities have occurred in the past, alleging links to its missile program without presenting any evidence whatsoever.
