PM Hasina likely to travel to India, China in first bilateral visits since forming new govt
Bangladesh's Premier Sheikh Hasina is likely to embark on bilateral visits within the next three months, with a possibility to visit New Delhi and Beijing this year to engage in a broader way with Asia's two major economic giants India and China.
According to diplomatic sources, PM Sheikh Hasina is planning to initiate her bilateral visits with India, following the neighboring country's elections scheduled for the first week of June.
'Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to India is definitely on the agenda. However, it will occur after the elections in India,' stated Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday, reaffirming China's dedication to deepening investment by Chinese firms in Bangladesh and strengthening bilateral ties.
Ambassador Yao Wen underscored the potential for advancing bilateral relations, particularly in trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges. He highlighted the forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to China in July as a pivotal step in this direction.
