Donald Lu lauds Bangladeshi Americans for 'excellent' ties between two countries

Donald Lu, the US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, commended Bangladeshi Americans for their significant role in strengthening the bilateral ties between the United States and Bangladesh.

Speaking at a reception hosted by the Bangladesh embassy in Washington DC to celebrate Bangladesh's Independence and National Day, Ambassador Lu expressed appreciation for the contributions of Bangladeshi Americans. Ambassador Muhammad Imran, Bangladesh's ambassador to the United States, delivered the welcoming address at the event held at the Bangabandhu Auditorium of the Mission.
Ambassador Lu acknowledged the substantial presence of Bangladeshi Americans in the United States, emphasizing that their dedication and hard work form the cornerstone of the excellent relations between the two nations. He highlighted the achievements of Bangladeshi-American entrepreneurs across various fields, noting their innovative ideas and contributions.
"We are immensely proud of the efforts of Bangladeshi Americans and their role in fostering strong relations between our two nations," Ambassador Lu remarked.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Lu extended his wishes to Bangladesh, saying, "Happy Birthday Bangladesh and Joy Bangla."
During the program, Ambassador Muhammad Imran conveyed warm greetings to all Bangladeshis, both at home and abroad, on the occasion of Bangladesh's Independence and National Day. Subsequently, Ambassador Lu and Ambassador Imran jointly cut a cake in the presence of guests, symbolizing the shared celebration of the occasion.
