Bangladesh elevated three steps global military power index

Bangladesh has made significant strides in the Global Fire Power (GFP) index, now ranking 37th out of 145 countries considered for the annual assessment.

The country has achieved a PowerIndex score of 0.5419, marking a notable improvement of three steps compared to the previous year when it held the 40th position with a score of 0.5871 in 2023.
In the GFP index, the United States continues to hold the top position, with Russia, China, India, and South Korea securing the subsequent spots in the top five.
Among Muslim-majority countries, Turkey and Pakistan maintain their positions within the top ten, securing the eighth and ninth positions, respectively.
According to GFP data, the Bangladesh Army boasts a total of 163,000 active personnel, while the Bangladesh Navy and Air Force comprise 25,100 and 17,400 members, respectively.
This notable improvement in the military power index reflects Bangladesh's ongoing efforts to enhance its defense capabilities on the global stage.
