Bangladesh to hold national elections on January 7

Bangladesh's Election Commission announced the forthcoming 12th Parliamentary Election scheduled for January 7. The nation gears up for this pivotal event that marks a significant moment in its democratic journey.

As per the declared schedule, the deadline for submitting nomination papers is slated for November 30. Following this, the nomination papers is set to take place from December 1 to December 4. Subsequently, candidates will have until December 17 to withdraw their candidacy.

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal, while unveiling the election schedule, urged all political parties within the country to actively participate in the democratic process. In a televised address to the nation, he reiterated the Election Commission's commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and transparency throughout the electoral proceedings.

Emphasizing the importance of inclusive participation, Awal encouraged political parties to engage proactively in the election. He reassured them of the Election Commission's dedication to implementing all necessary measures to ensure an environment conducive to a free and impartial election, fostering trust and confidence among all stakeholders.
