Trudeau criticizes India amid diplomatic tensions

Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau has once again reacted in on the ongoing diplomatic dispute between Canada and India, accusing India of arbitrarily expelling 41 diplomats and violating international law.

'that is why we were so disappointed when India violated the Vienna Convention and arbitrarily revoked the diplomatic immunity of over 40 Canadian diplomats in India,' quoted media on Friday, citing Trudeau's statement.
The leader of the Liberal Party of Canada also raised concerns, stating that Ottawa had valid reasons to suspect the involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a designated terrorist in India. Nijjar was shot dead in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18.
'Think about it from our perspective. We have serious reasons to believe that agents of the Government of India could have been involved in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil, and India’s response was to kick out a whole bunch of Indian diplomats by violating their rights under the Vienna convention,' Trudeau remarked.
Trudeau's comments come in the context of New Delhi expressing its apprehensions about the rising Sikh separatist sentiment in Canada during the India-US 2+2 ministerial dialogue held on Friday. The diplomatic tensions between the two nations remain a focal point, with each side presenting its perspective on the contentious issues at hand.
