Tokyo hosts ninth round of Pakistan-Japan security dialogue

Tokyo recently played host to the 9th installment of the Pakistan-Japan Security Dialogue, during which both sides engaged in extensive discussions covering a wide spectrum of bilateral, regional, and multilateral topics of shared interest.

Leading Pakistan's delegation was Ameer Khurram Rathore, the Additional Foreign Secretary for the Asia-Pacific region. On the Japanese side, the delegation was helmed by Ryo Nakamura, the Director General of the Southeast and Southwest Asian Affairs Department.
The meeting reaffirmed the warm and friendly relations between Pakistan and Japan while emphasizing the potential for increased collaboration in the realm of defense.
During the exchange of perspectives on the regional situation, the Additional Foreign Secretary outlined Pakistan's commitment to maintaining peaceful relations with its neighbors, including Afghanistan and India. Additionally, Pakistan expressed concerns over the grave human rights violations occurring in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The Pakistan-Japan Security Dialogue serves as a vital platform for the exchange of ideas on a wide array of issues concerning security and defense, enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
The forthcoming round of discussions is scheduled to be held in Pakistan, with dates to be mutually agreed upon, further solidifying the commitment of both countries to continued dialogue and collaboration.
