Imran Khan discharged from murder charges

A Pakistani court made the decision on Monday to discharged former Prime Minister Imran Khan of murder charges, as confirmed by his lawyer, Naeem Panjutha, through the messaging platform X.

Panjutha expressed his relief, stating, "God be praised," and further elaborated that the charges pertaining to the murder case in the southern city of Quetta had been dismissed by the court.
Imran Khan had been facing accusations related to this murder case since June. It's worth noting that the Pakistan's former Prime Minister had found himself entangled in a web of legal challenges, amounting to more than 100 cases, following his removal from office through a parliamentary vote of confidence in April 2022. This political shift occurred as a result of his strained relations with the influential military forces in the country.
Additionally, another crucial development is expected on Monday, with a high court in Islamabad slated to deliver a ruling on an appeal filed by Imran Khan. This appeal seeks to suspend his conviction in a graft case, adding another layer of legal complexity to the former Prime Minister's situation.
