Taliban ban political parties in Afghanistan
The Afghanistan Taliban declared a comprehensive ban on the activities of political parties within the nation. The announcement, made on Wednesday, reinforces the Taliban's stance on political pluralism and governance.
Sheikh Maulavi Abdul Hakeem Sharaye, the Interim Minister for Justice, disclosed the development while presenting his ministry's annual report in Kabul. He emphasized that political parties lack alignment with Sharia law and hold no significance within it. he pointed out that these parties neither uphold any national interests nor garner favor among the populace.
This declaration serves as a clear indicator that the Taliban's dominance as a movement remains steadfast, and there appears to be no intention to foster a diverse political landscape in Afghanistan.
The message reinforces their grip on power and their resistance to allowing varying political ideologies to thrive in the nation.
