India will consistently support the progress and development of its eastern neighbors, said Indian Premier Narendra Modi.
Modi also expressed concern over the security of minorities in Bangladesh and hoped their safety would be ensured.

'As a neighboring country, I comprehend the worries surrounding recent events in Bangladesh. I sincerely hope for a swift return to normalcy there. The concerns of 1.4 billion citizens for the safety of Hindus and other minorities are significant. India always desires that our neighboring nations pursue paths of prosperity and peace,' he remarked.
'India is dedicated to fostering peace, and in the future, we will continue to wish for Bangladesh's success in its 'Vikas Yatra' (development journey) because we care about the welfare of all people,' he added.
