Death toll rises to 215 in southern india landslides
The death toll from a massive landslide in Kerala, a state in southern India, has reached 215, with 206 people still missing, according to officials.
The landslide, which hit the Wayanad district on Tuesday, triggered a large-scale rescue effort. The search operation continued into its sixth day on Sunday.
Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, announced on Saturday that the search operation is nearing its conclusion.
Authorities have stated that the government is planning a comprehensive rehabilitation process for the survivors.
In the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, officials reported that 47 people remain missing following cloudbursts early Thursday, which resulted in six fatalities.
