India test fires air-to-surface missile from Su-30 MK-I fighter aircraft

India successfully conducted a test flight of the RudraM-II air-to-surface missile from an Su-30 MK-I fighter jet of the Indian Air Force on Wednesday, as per an official announcement.

'The flight-test achieved all the trial objectives, confirming the propulsion system and the control and guidance algorithm,' stated the Ministry of Defense.
The ministry highlighted that the RudraM-II is a domestically developed, solid-propelled air-launched missile system designed for air-to-surface missions, aimed at neutralizing various enemy assets.
India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh remarked that 'the successful test has reinforced the RudraM-II system's role as a significant force multiplier for the Armed Forces.'
Earlier this month, on May 1, India also successfully tested a supersonic missile-assisted release of a torpedo system. Prior to that, the country had carried out a successful test of a new version of a medium-range ballistic missile.
